Former Carnegie Fellow Amy Lazicki (2007-2009) was awarded one of four Outstanding Postdoc Awards in the Physical and Life Sciences Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).
Amy is currently a part of the Condensed Matter and Materials Division at LLNL and was a graduate student in the laser shock physics group there before coming to Carnegie. She returned to LLNL in 2010. She has been studying high pressure behavior of low-Z lithium containing ionic solids with Rip Collins. Her work in high pressure behavior of materials has led to a change in the way solids are explored making this an exciting area of research.
